Hallo everyone - that is my first thread on this board!

    Let me describe situation:
A few days ago I made a site. After add to MSN, I have been good ranked very good - today I noticed position 3 and 4 in MSN. And I love it!

But...I have no visitors from MSN, while Keyword tracker shows 1850 daily searches for my keyword (Overture)...

Can anyone tell me what is a reason?

    I can see two options:
    1. My site is well ranked only at some local MSN server which is dedicated to my region (Poland), and is not popular search term here. (I prefer it! :) )

    2. Keyword tracker tool gives results not even close to reality (I dont like it :( )

btw. Wordtracker results for my keyword is 3/day

please tell me what you think about

3 searches a day isn't very much... especially if it's only ranked in MSN (not very many people use MSN).

No. 2 is the most probable reason, but it is not a problem with the keyword tracker tool, it is a problem with overture. I have picked up a search phrase that has 10.000 searches according to overture, but almost zero in wordtracker.

    thankks a lot!

@digitalpoint - 3 searches a day is not too much.... however Overture shows me 1800 searches a day.

Where from the Overture takes its result if it is so useless...

Who knows. One thing why Overture is so inflated, is many SEO types are over-eager in checking their positions, and once a day is not enough for them, or there is some kind of a robot running by mistake or by intent. Maybe other possible explanations. What's important is to be aware of it and always consider more possible statistics before making decision. At least compare with wordtracker if nothing else.

OH geez. You know, after reading this thread it totally explained to me why i get sucky traffic. Or atleast gives me an idea. SeubSEo, good point about jerks checking their traffic... I never thought of that. Digitial Point, yes, MSN sucks too, however Im always listed there but not yahoo or google. Hench, NOBODY looks at my sites. Looks like I found out what i was doing wrong.

Do you think using Adwords keyword research within Adwords would be a better measure of search results? Anyone ever compare Google To Overture with search counts?

Please excuse my inglish...it seems i'm still lerning.

Good point Subseo - tons of lads from all the world can make some problems with Overture... maybe it is a main reason why Overture gives crazy results.

    - what statistics you use? can you recomend something?

No, sorry, don't have budget for that. I use the DP keyword tracker, I just double check OVerture results with Wordtracked, and Google Adwords stats (I create an artificial campaign and look at how many clicks I could get for say $5 per click - it's far from accurate nor predicative, but it gives an idea - especially if say MSN says 10.000 per day and Google Adwords says 0.7 clicks if I bid $5 per one, which is crazy). It doesn't happen often, some stats I get from Overture are fairly accurate.
