Yes i want to have a forum on my own topic "Nudges". Points are that i have not a single user.Plan is in my mind only. What i want to ask here is that whether it would be better for me to buy vBulletin life time license or it would be better for me to apply anyother free board like phpBB? Thank You.
I can argue both sides of fence on this one. Since a new forum is hard to get going thee free side is exciting. We ran phpbb successfully for over a year then forum was hit by a porn spammer. It was not worth my time to keep forum cleaned up so we took it down. I would not consider running phpbb other than in password protected environment. There is no question in my mind Vbulletin is the product to use if you are going to be around for some time. The question in my mind is will your forum take off? Good luck, Shannon
You may want to try one of the free ones out there like phpbb for starters. It isn't difficult to upgrade to Vbulletin when you think your site is ready for the commitment. Alternatively, you can start off with the Vbulletin leased license for one year and pay a lower fee. Then you can make use of this time to decide whether to continue with the forum.
actually problem is not about getting one year license or lifetime.Once i satisfied myself of the task.I will not let it down. But i have read in variou other forums that phpBB is having no support and such type of bad comments. Can i takeoff
if you have the money buy VB if your forum fails you still own the licence and can change the DOMAIN it is registered to in the VB members bit, so if you started a new forum (and scrapped the old one) on a diff domain you could still use VB. Or you could always sell the license?
You can sell the license by contacting support. PHPBB is fine to begin with and if people cone you can just upgrade to vBulletin.
