Currently I am experiencing the same thing, I think google is making some major changes
in their algorithm that's why we are experiencing this drop in traffic, I think older sites
are not affected by this as much as the newer sites.

I had a big peak in traffic on one of my sites a day or so ago but now it has dropped back to normal. Maybe they are making changes.

Have you kept a track of your SERP?
I've seen some sites of mine drop off the first page for a week before returning. This could reduce the traffic dramatically.

My site was made in 2003, redesigned about a year ago. Been keeping track... on the 19th it dropped, came back around May 28th, dropped again around June 1st... This is driving me nuts... I can't figure out anything.. Are there any tips you would give, upon examining my site?

Strange that. My site is an older site - designed in 2006 and traffic also fluctuates.

I would love to rip google one but they can kill our websites. I've read a lot about how they basically drop off traffic when ever they want. Main thing is don't do things that will get you sandboxed. Or it could take a year for them to re-index your site. Be patient and the traffic will come back, like the economy. But don't make google angry or do irrational things like asking them to index your site after it's been around for 4 or 5 years.

    Hope this helps...

getting sandboxed dont does much with the traffic loss. my sms site was on no. 2 for a KW, it got sandboxed for 10 days and i didnt do ANYTHING... it got back on no. 2 10 days. may be your competitors ve done something that was muchh worthy of bringing them up to you! do research on your SERPs.. best of luck

Theres nothing much you can do, when youre at the mercy of the great lords of the internet google. You just gotta suck up and roll with the punches man.
Or work on increasing your traffic from Yahoo and MSN.
