Download the script up again with the same database. Take care of your custom coding and mods. backup them.
the best thing you can do is contact an0n, dargre, Dawzz or someone who knows the script inside out and give them ftp access as well as cpanel access to find out what is going on and go from there and btw I pm David and Dawzz about this thread
No problem, It would only be fair that the OP let's us know for after all he did ask for help and none of us hesitated to offer, besides, it will help others learn by whatever the cause was.
I do hope the OP gives out an answer otherwise people might start trying to guess and reveal what they found while trying to help which might not be the best way to go.
Glad you sorted it out, did you actually find out WHY you lost your templates? We'd all be interested to know so this kind of episode can be avoided in future.
I've seen this happen many o' times before. Generally what it is is the files themselves that get a little wacky. As an example, instead of the php file being structured on a per line basis, the file somehow, someway is either downloaded or uploaded and the entire file gets put on a single line, which causes these problems. The resolution is to recheck the files for this (especially the init.php and index.php) and then upload them again I would have answered this a few days back, but was busy with alternative tasks(which im still working on) also, since: Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 2 (2 members and 0 guests) an0n, dvduval is in this thread, maybe he'll note this and it can be taken care of over on the correct forums. (seems like i never stop helping this script, i swear )
Good that you answered this cry of help. It is possible for the structure of the php to go wonky (e.g; lost white space needed for correct function) but I never thought it was a common thing, but then again transfer of data can cause all sorts of things to go missing. I won't comment on dduval and the fact people like you line his pockets with this free help, that would sound bitchy of me. It's just good that people like you are around to do this otherwise it appears from recent events a whole lot of people aren't getting the help they need?
In all honesty Jamie, it's a passion i have, in that, i always enjoyed helping people(even after i got screwed) and I look at the majority of the people in this section of DP as my peers. Noone above or below anyone; every is an equal Now, on a lighter note, maybe i should setup a forum and charge people $10 for two lines of code changes and call them MODs awesomeness
I agree we are all equal on the grand scheme of things, it's just one or two people who think they are above and are invariably the one's who abuse the one's they clearly think of as lesser mortals. Let's not give this any more airtime than it deserves, as long as the OP is happy then I'm happy as he is my equal.
