Hello there I started a campaign yesterday. It was to promote a site in which im selling 3 scripts (file sending, smiley script site and articles manager) I put in a $40 budget per day just for the start. I was targetting 3 big keywords : max cpc : script ( $1.25) scripts ($1.25) php scripts ($0.90) - content enabled (max cpc of $0.15) On checking stats today, i have got 48clicks in total, cost was around $13.50 , but 0 sales. Im not sure whether i should continue running the campaign for few more days or target other different keywords (not sure which ones exactly) Any advice will be appreciated. thanks.
You only just started the advertisign campaign so I reckon it's too early to give up. That said it sounds like quite a competitive field to invest in. Anyway how you researched into optimising your adverts? Services such as AdWords give you credit for relevant advertisements and therefore optimising your adverts can provide drastic results. For an example: If someone searches for "pHp script" then the words "pHp" and "script" in your advert will be shown in bold drawing more attention to your advertisement. This will increase CTR and therefore lower your cost in the long term. Basically check on DP and also on the net because there are loads of articles on this sort of thing. Hope that helps
yes, i also felt that words like, script , scripts and php scripts are searched highly, so being there at the top definitely should bring me good hits and in turn sales. i'll see what i can do with the advert.
think the site to me is easy to navigate . dont think theres anything wrong with showing it so here it is -> bestscripts.info
Your site looks good. Anyway this is a really debatable topic but some people believe that you should have a more of a one way system in your site if you're trying to sell a product. By this I mean some try to increase sales by removing as many links as possible from their product page, i.e. adsense. I don't have sales sites so i wouldn't know but I suppose you could try it out. That said the demo links for each product should obviously be kept as they are persuasive devices. You could also consider adding a reviews system and get previous customers to give reviews on your scripts. There are so many scripts like these out there already so visitors need to know which ones are the best value for money.
Yeah I agree with SVZ. You need to make sure your site seems "fresh" so you either have no news or a news section that actually contains news instead of history!
Just from what I notice. When i do a search for those keywords I am not looking to buy anything. I am looking for a directory/site that holds a bunch of scripts that I can use for free. I would definetly not target those keywords and go about it another way. There are plenty of sites out there that you can do a paid listing on to sell your scripts. This would be more cost effective. www.hotscripts.com/ is one for an example. There are some others that get plenty of traffic.
right, i wil remove all adsense. replace the side adsense with Reviews. I'll also update the news section today.
actually i am doing a sponsored listing on hotscripts on a category for one of my scripts. That category gets around 2,000 hits a day according to their stats but not a single sale for about a month now. When i initally started i use to get one or two every other day for the first 2 week. Not anymore. If you know any more such sites please let me know.
Basically the main thing here is to experiment and see what works best. A generic advice I know but it's true... Anyway tell us how things go with the changes you made.
well im almost done modifying the page. I only now need to know which keywords to target exactly with adwords. If anyone can help me with that, it will be really great. thanks alot!
Based on what you're selling your keywords are not targeted. The words you're bidding on, especially since they are broad matched, are sending you untargeted traffic. Think of all the possible combinations people could type to reach your site that are completely unrelated to what you're selling. I would suggest trying exact match with a targeted list of keywords. For example, things like; [articles script] [article script] [php article script] [php article scripts] [php articles script] [php articles scripts] [article management script] [article management scripts] Your traffic levels may be lower but you'll know that you're delivering what the searchers were looking for and will stand a better chance of turning visitors into conversions. Spend a few hours doing some keyword research, it'll be worth it.
Definitely need to be more targeted with your keywords. Repeat the product in the Link too You want to do your best to requalify anyone who clicks on your link, and you do that by providing as much information as you can.
Oops Repeat the keyword in the link. In AdSense, search words that match your bidded on key word are bolded in the ad. Bold makes the link pop more and draws the eye, translating to more clicks. Use dynamic keyword insertion to do it For your title use: {KeyWord: Widgets} for Sale In this example, if your keyword is Blue Widgets, then the Ad title would show as Blue Widgets for Sale When the keyword is too long to fit, it would default to the word Widget.
