It may just be me but all the Forums I have checked have no pagerank. I'm not talking about the homepage but the actual thread and post pages. I could have sworn they used to have PR. Can you check and let me know if you notice this too.
NO, what I am saying is that no Forums are showing any PR regardless of any updates. I just thought it was interesting that whilst PR is showing on the homepage no inner pages are showing anything across all forums.
Ya thats right for every page of the Forum , the PageRank is not provided but only for the homepage it is provided
^^ The last two posters are wrong. Google does not just send all PR on "forums" to the homepage. I wish people knew what they were talking about. It's just because of the link structure. For example, on a high quality blog, every post will get linked to from other forums and other blogs and stuff. Webmasters also interlink their blog posts. On a forum where a new thread is started every minute there's no way every thread can get PR distributed to it. You can't have 100,000+ threads and expect at least PR1 to show on all of them. Those threads are mostly 3 levels deep from the homepage. How is it not like a regular site? Do you really think that Google says "This is a forum so lets just redirect all trust to the homepage?"
I strongly recommend you to visit the site that I sent you over PM to understand how internal link building affects PR and site's categories! Cheers!
Hrm, I think it was a glitch with Google this morning. All my sites were 0 or N/A, now they are back to where they've been for the last 6 months.
This has not happened only to forums but to a lot of other sites as well. I have lots of sub pages that have lost PageRank. In the case of forums, I can see a possible reason though. Google may be worried about the signiture links in forums
You can ask from our friend Techie Geek, maybe he can tell us what is his position regarding this thread now...
Page rank is for homepages only but for the threads its only the matter of getting indexed. Traffic is more important in forums anyway.
