No PR for homepage, Why?

Ok so my directory didnt get any PR... thats unfortunate but whats more frustuating is that the inner pages have gotten a PR! Those pages I didnt spend any time or penny on. Example of pages: The submit page(PR:3), recent links page (2), Most visited (2), and some other categories(they have gotten a PR of 2 or 3).

None of these pages have any backlinks. Though doing a search for "www.ultimatedir.com" shows around 350+ results. What could the reason to this be?

I didnt have big expectations but I was sure I would get a PR of 3. The PR predictions (which I know are inaccurate) showed me a prediction of 4. So I thought I would get 3 atleast.. I have seen a few directories which hardly have any backlinks yet their homepages have gotten a PR of 2.

That was fast... I made this post 30 seconds back :p If it were meaningless, running directories would have been an absolute business by now.. But ya, the method used for calculating the PR seems screwed up.

According to this SEO company (seocompany.ca/pagerank/page-rank-update-list.html) PageRank was not done yet. So I'm still waiting because no changes on any of my sites yet.

Same thing happening to lots of people including on my forum.

There seems to be some common factors though. Seems to be more of an issue for forums and directories. I wonder if there has been some sort of algo shift in the PR is spread through these types of sites with loads of links from the homepage.

I wonder if this is happening to anyone with say under 20 internal links stemming from the homepage?
