Hi all, I have a new site which went up a couple of weeks ago. I've been heavily advertising it (wordpress "seo built in, site map", submit urls, forums, newsgroups, article submissions, rss, multiple blogs, directories, etc). Theres a couple of small keywords giving me minor traffic from google searches but my site is on page 11 on google for the decent keywords. The top spots are all P4+. Im only getting 30-40 uniques a day. I did some searching for my domain name and i'm not given a PR at all...im not given a numeric response. Google, yahoo, msn, alexa is showing 0 backlinks. I backlinked to my site on all of the above advertising methods. Anyone have any recommendations and reason on why the search engines aren't giving me any results? Thanks
Hi all, I spent hours last night advertising and I actually dropped on a specific keywork I was targeting from the top of page 11 to the last spot on 11. I'm wondering, when writing articles and blogs, do you re-write different material? I wrote a good article with a few hundred words with good keywords and content which im sort of using over and over, would this cause problems? The problem with my niche is that I can't write much content (I have a coupon site/provider for a specific industry). Maybe bad niche but if I get up on google I don't think it can be that bad afterall...I can post the url if u guys want? Thanks
I have been writing my own articles and submitting them to muliple directories, this is the way I have been building up backlinks. If you are using the same article this could be the problem - classed as duplciate content. Can you not write content on what people could buy and include the link in your bio? For example, Save Money on New Computers, then a link at the bottom with your coupon site???
thanks! hmm I suppose I can write content on specific products maybe....i've been writing content pertaining to coupon codes, how they work, how money can be saved with them, how frequent they're released and how quick updates are provided on the referenced link (my site), where to find the coupons (my site), how to apply coupons to checkouts, etc. Going forward, will my dup articles have any effect on SEO or should I delete them immediately? You can post up your url if you want. We my be able to see what the problem is with the backlinks. Also........you need a lot of patience when not only submitting for links, but recieving them and waiting for them to appear in the search engines. Sounds like you are a little impatient. The reason why you hve no PR is that PR only gets awarded every 3 or 4 months. You'll have to wait for the next PR update to see if you've gained any. ...".... spent hours last night advertising...." you cant expect to rank No1 and have PR after a night of submitting lol. Keep going and you'll get the rewards.
Thanks for the replies, I believe I was not patient as well..until I read a few threads here with ppl ranking high after 24 hrs..but yes I agree, I need to give it some time. Only reason I made the comment about last nights advertising was that it dropped..I never expedited lightning fast results overnight but I also did not expect it to drop 10 spots so I was just wondering what I may have did wrong. Did not know about the PR..thanks.
