There is a quotation site which no original content, but all quotes which can be found all over the Internet. It doesn't even have a paragraph or two unique content. It has tons of back-links. Interestingly this site ranks number one for most of the terms. And I don't think it is penalized by Google. Any explanation?
Surely the website will be banned by Google for ever ... Google did't promote the site which contain duplicated contents ... If a website contain lot of duplicated contents nothing matter even if it is back-link or any other , Surely the site will be banned .
I doubt. This site has been around since 2001. 1,050th most popular website in the world. 1,774,675 pages link to this website. 60,689 domains link to this website.
That's exactly why google will not penalize it. Google counts backlinks as a form of "liking".. so Google thinks that if a website has let's say 60k backlinks, then a lot of people must 'like' it and they find good content there.
Agree it must be the backlinks. It's not so much the issue of unique content. Those same thousands of quotes which keep publishing in the Internet is not considered as duplicate. They are just quotes which are attributed to someone or somewhere. Even Adsense also accepts quotation sites.
i think he is clever in writing copied content so google also did not catch him, any once google catches him him what ever the site popularity google will penalizes him,,,,,,,,
I think the popularity of a website, in traffic and also backlinks is like telling that it is the source of those writings. Weird, but true. It's complex, but until it's popular, it will continue to rank.
Its also depends upon how much percentage of your content's words are found duplicate. If its less than 40% then its not issue.
