I have a minisite where I put up some adsense banners, and to my surprise they pay really well. Over $1 per click always. Problem is that I'm only well ranked at MSN, and I get 20 visitors a day if I'm lucky.

Damn, is only more people used that engine I would be earning a fortune.

I just hope Yahoo does an update and helps me out bumping my keywords up. MSN is going nowhere

MSN's home page is filled with too much crap. Too many distractions on there that will prevent most users from ever noticing the search box. You almost have to wonder why they bothered making their own spider if it wasn't a highlight - even on their own home page.

I commented in another thread about this. The search.msn.com URL is useless, end users are not gonna get there IMO.

Some of my sites are well ranked on MSN, and my experience are the same like you fryman. Hardly any visitors from MSN....

Odd. I would have to guess that better than 50% of my search income is coming from MSN searches. It's a lot bigger than you think. Every new PC I have seen goes there by DEFAULT!!!

Changing the topic a bit, I have seen a weird pattern lately in the rankings... my keywords at MSN are going down, but at Yahoo they are getting huge jumps. Of course, once they get well ranked at Yahoo they bring me 3 times more traffic than MSN, so I am relly happy. One of my keywords jumped from $50 to #28 today... just another jump and I will be in the first page! :D

I have been seeing more shoppers from MSN and Yahoo. People actually buy coming from those 2 at a higher rate then google. However google still sends the most visitors.

its the ol' would you rather have:

    MSN : 100 hits 5% sales = 5 Sales
    or
    Google : 1,000 hits 1% sales = 10 Sales

But I have noticed I get deeper clicks and a higher rate of sales from MSN users...when I happen to see one.

    Fryman -
I've had almost the exact same experiance with my MSN dropping and Yahoo AND Google picking up pace. Of course the Google advances are due to my recent release from G-Incarceration at Camp Sandy (Sandboxed no more - wooohoo!)

I got a site bumped up at Yahoo. Earnings doubled and that site is now making almost $100 a day. But Google seems to have no interest in it. Not ranked for any term at all.

Oh, boy... thinking of what would happen if Google gave me a good ranking for this site is almost like dreaming of what you would do if you won the lottery...

Used to rank well for MSN for pretty much every main keyword that I aimed at... but traffic does not increase... at all... maybe 10 extra visits per day? Now I can no longer be found at MSN... but am doing pretty well at Google... but somehow my traffic is increasing everyday.
