Can we have a complete ban on Unmetered hosting offers, There is No such thing as unmetered and never will be. Plus, almost ALL unlimited hosting offers have turned out to be scams.

If there is a complete ban on unmetered hosting offers then it would reduce the amount of huge scams here on DP.

    What does everyone else think?

Unmetered and Unlimited are two different things. Unlimited should not be allowed, however Unmetered bandwidth is possible :)

Possible but most of the people offering them are on resellers.

DP doesnt get involved with member trading or selling. Members are free to do what they want regarding their sales pitch.

Yeah unmetered just means it's not monitered or restricted so to speak, but there IS no such thing as unlimited bandwidth as you can only have as much bandwidth as the host does. same with unlimited space.

But common sense should tell you all of that, so there shouldn't really be a need for a rule to stop it.

We strive to run based on a minimum number of posting guidelines. If it sounds too good to be true, ...
