Yikes, that's interesting. I use Professional though so it's not as scary for me. So, umm that means if their's a security exploit M$ won't fix it?

So what do i have to do now, buy the new longhorn or Vista?
I heard this is only availble on new computer systems, does this mean i can't buy the new OS seperately or do i have to specifly buy a new computer.

Ah man MS, what the hell are you doing to us:mad:

I think maybe you read it wrong - my reading is that there will be no new security updates for XP Home from 2007 onwards

I never really understood why anyone purchased home instead of professional in the first place unless that's what came bundled on the pc. I always saw home as being in the same vein as 'me'. Flashy but pointless.

One year should be more than enopugh time to upgrade to XP pro, or whatever OS is in lifecycle by that time. I wouldn't worry to much about it at this point.

Of course Billy and the boys are leaving you in the dark. They're getting ready to switch to the new Windows Vista OS.

There aren't going to be any more security updates, because Microsoft has patched all possible security holes. haha

Doesn't MS give a 5 year life cycle to each OS now? I remember when win 98 stopped getting updates and I know a ton of people who still use it too :O
