It's SO CRAP BULLSHIT.. These guys seems to be talking total crap just to laugh at the crowd. Remove PR from toolabr to stop selling links? What a HAHA i would love them to do that. I will start seling links in MUCH more large amounts than i am doing now.

Besides... since what times writing a press release and submitting to Google news (bearing in mind to place a link with an anchor :) is a WHITE HAT? I believe white hat is NATURAL SEO - only onpage SEO. All other stuff is trials of manipulation on Google. One way or another.

Total crap article, has nothing to do with SEO.

I can't see G completely dropping backlinks as one of the factors in assessing relevancy of a site in its search results. Its the fundamental basis on which G became the most used search engine. I think keeping the PR rank of site private to themselves though isn't a bad thing. If you concentrate on on-page optimisation, writing good relevant content and building relevant in-bound links gradually then knowing what the PR value of your site is becomes irrelevant anyway in terms of actually SERP ranking. You might be worried if you sell links though lol :D

I'm not sure about this. I know PR doesn't mean much anymore as it is, but surely they will replace it wit something to judge a sites value. Interesting thread.

If I have a site earning $3,000/mo with high ranks for major search terms, why would I give a shit that it's PR2? PR should be removed entirely. I also think Google should put less emphasis on backlinks, because everyone is trying to exploit those as well....just imagine if we stopped wasting our time getting backlinks and put all of that time into making our sites better.

I do no think Google would take such an extreme step of removing PR process completely....

But looking at so much focused attention it generates from webmasters, the company would definitely bring about drastic changes in its PR measurement processes....sooner than later.

These just look like false rumours. when you start predicting something too often, there is always a change being talked about. G can never stop PRs.. if it does so, there will obviously be other ways to have pages ranked on search results. Its not the answer that changes but only the question :D

google are hoping their new 'promote / delete' personal ranking system will over time allow them to build a database of the results of millions of unpaid editors. What it WILL do, of course, is create a spammer /proxy paradise. Ordinary people go to search engines to FIND stuff, not to act as unpaid site reviewers. Only seo bods / spammers will click the little buttons
