LOL that is why they fired him. They announced this last year that they were going to do this. I always liked the logo. It gave them distinction, but they probably have a good reason.

from what I read today in news paper, the logo and askjeeves name gave users perception that they have to ask question to use askjeeves.com

so no more askjeeves, just ask.com

And the Teoma brand is no more as well. Teoma.com now redirects to Ask.com

Teoma is now merged with Ask.com
"Teoma, which means "expert" in Gaelic, has been the heart of Ask search technology since 2001. The power of the Teoma algorithm, now known as ExpertRank, makes Ask search technology one of the world's most powerful and unique search engines"

This is about what they call expertrank. Stragely, apart from this para, rest of page talks about trivial topics such as crawelers etc without giving much insight into expertrank.

Note the indirect stab at google :D

It is about time they lost the butler. It never worked. Talked about harded-headedness. Ten years is an eternity on the Internet!

Well hot damn...the internet is beginning to see some changes now isn't it? Google owning all the web's search engines dominating its major competitor Yahoo!, and now Ask Jeeves gets rid of the butler and turns into Ask.com

Well I guess change is for the best.. :)
