Now THAT's pretty interesting. I hope they provide some examples of what's okay and what's not, because there could be some considerable gray area with this.

This means that all those arcades with adsense ads near Flash games (can easily get around %1 accidental CTR) will be getting a nice Gletter any time soon.

    Move your ads people.

What it mean is you will eventually be banned! It is inevitable.

What's getting me is this quote.

I recently emailed G about Zango content (which makes a popup for download) and they told me it was fine?

I honestly don't think the support people know what's in the terms and what's not in the terms...

Going to have to send them yet ANOTHER email....

Oh boy. This is going to cause a lot of confusion and complaining again - just like the "Don't place images near ads" policy.

This seems to directly go against the advice that they give on the optimization page: “Ads placed near rich content and navigational aids usually do well because users are focused on those areas of a page.”

I wrote a bit more about it here: http://www.admoolah.com/blog/index.php/2007/05/google-says-avoid-ads-near-things-users-click/

This looks like a blog post that has not been well thought out in my opinion.

I will be ignoring it until they make the guidelines more transparent. i do not think it is good business practice to make guidelines so fuzzy.

Classic. I received an email titled "AdSense Optimization Invitation" and the first thing they told me to do was add a 15x400 text banner right under my navigation menu. Guess I will move it over as it never did well there anyways. Kontera on the other hand is generating ads in the words between menu links. Half the time my forum descriptions are actually ads

Really looks like Google is trying to have as much people banned as possible. With their recent acquisition of Double Click, only Yahoo Publisher ad service will be a valuable option to go with.

Sad to see Google become bigger than life and act like a complete moron.

What are you talking about "hurt zango" ?

I have zango and adsense on my site together, and now from this post, it seems like they cannot be on the same page.

Meanwhile a couple of months ago it was cleared by a adsense rep.

G is the one pissing me off!

So ad-links wouldn't be allowed in the menu or what?

The way that reads is no ad links anywhere near any place that a user might ever have to click. Thats a draconian interpretation but if google needed a reason it could be read that way.

That sucks. There will be a lot of gray area; as a blogger the navigation is the best spot for ads.
