No meta tags and remotely hosted is better?

A very weird situation IMO. About two months ago I started a blog, at http://blog.rihardsonline.com/ it's hosted on my own domain as you can see, and it has meta description and keywords in place. I also post daily updates so google indexes it quite often.

Now a week or so after I started my blog I suggested to one of my friends that he should get one as well, and he asked me if there was any place he could get one for free. I told him about wordpress.com and he got a blog there. Made some posts, and has been neglecting it ever since, and it doesn't have meta description nor meta keywords.

But here's the kicker, he already has PR3, while my blog is still PR0. Any ideas?

btw, the link to his blog is http://batt.wordpress.com/

PR doesn't matter a bit... Why are you so concern with it (I think this is the 100th time i've said that today)

Meta descriptions never hurt... They can be very helpful at times actually...

Besides his blog has 45 backlinks and your has only 9:
