    What is the niche and how many impressions are you getting? If yours is a low paying niche, then you have to get a very large traffic to get a decent income. If it is a high paying one, you can boost your earnings just by altering the position of ads and blending them with the contents (increasing the ctr). To earn good income, you require a large volume of targeted traffic...

    Do you have adsense for search implemented? If no, give it a try. And do something to get more visitors to your website.

    Badcompany, I review answers of our friend in this thread and took note about other advices I heard here.

    Please, calm down, look at following list and start to act (I was in same situation, I didn't get to break an average of USD 1.00 daily, and now, I'm in USD 2.00 daily and going up :) ):

    1. Write more unique content;
    2. Increase your trageted traffic;
    3. Build more sites;
    4. Change ads placements and layouts;
    5. Look for high paying niches / keywords;
    6. Use some web tools in order to check about SEO and rewrite all pages you need. You can use: http://www.w3optimizer.com ;
    7. Make link exchange with other sites;
    8. Get more backlinks (blogs, forums, yahoo!answers, etc.).

    Make sure you have an about us, contact us, term of service and privacy policy pages. Also, a sitemap increases your quality score too.

    Another thing, only have 3 ads on each page. Not 3 ad blocks but 3 ads. Add a half banner to the top and bottom and a small rectangle wrapped inside your article.

    Google will always serve the ads that pay the most and have the highest click thru rate.

    If you have ad block all over your page that allow 12 ads to show, you going to be getting low paying ads without a doubt.

    Also, make sure your content is UNIQUE and not indexed anywhere else on the web and is useful to your visitors. Don't use junk content that is of no help to your users.

    How long is the visitor on your page before they click on your adsense? Just because an attorney is paying $50 for a keyword and his ad shows up on your page does not mean you will get 50% or $25 for every click on his ad from your page. Do you have a premium adsense feed? If your account is new, I highly doubt it. The older your adsense account is the more of a % of the click you will get.

    Don't try to game Google. Just make sure you are providing a GOOD USER EXPERIENCE for your visitors by giving them what THEY want and/or need and you will be rewarded.

    These should help point you in the right direction but the last thing I would like to also say is the very best place get adsense information is from Google themselves. Spend some time on the adsense blog and forum. Google tells you everything you need to know and their information is much more reliable than any advice you will get from me, DP or any other forum beside G's own.

    Hope this helps.

    I'd like to know what you are doing at the moment to promote this site? What niche is it in etc?

    Reason I ask is, if you're writing a lot of content and doing a lot to promote the site and the workload is quite heavy then you could make A LOT more money doing other things. I would suggest re-thinking your business model and looking at other things that would require the same amount of work with higher returns. Since this is an adsense forum i won't go into it too much here, but this is one of the reasons I am not into adsense.
