Its not going to show up unless it offers far more information than all the other billiards sites out there. Even then it needs more links of a higher quality than the other sites as well.

thanks for the reply. I am aware of this fact, but look at result one or two - its candystand.com and the only way it relates, is that it has an online billiard game...thats it. so there is no way that it has "far more information than all the other sites out there"

I knwo it has tons of backlinks, and its an old site.

I just thought there might have sbeeen something onpage that i was doing wrong 9or not doing at all that maybe i was ovgerlookingt.

Very popular game, with very popular games site (online games gets a ton of search traffic, and billiards is always a top 5 online game with games providers). This particular games site's index is a PR7. The site is also an authority site, and it is owned by a popular brand which can drive a ton of PR to it.

The bottom line is that Google's goal is to deliver the best possible results for people searching for "Billiards". Since the majority of people searching with this term, are looking for an online game (not a forum), candystand is the best result. They also do a great job at interactive billiards which makes their offering extremely popular.

9tm - thanks, makes perfect sense, and its something I didn't think about. best answer so far, rep for you.

btw - wouldnt surfers looking for billiards online search with "online" or "interactive" as part of teh search? It just does not make a whole lot of sense to search for "billiards" if you are looking for an online billiard game
