We put the crazy kids in their own area so in case they go crazy, they only hurt other crazy kids... :)

Alexa is a real good measure of users from countries like India, China, Indonesia, etc. Which happen to parallel the countries who spam, post useless crap thinking a forum link is amazing. So yes... we HAVE seen a slight down turn of users from China, India, Pakistan and Indonesia. At the same time we see an increase in users from US, Canada, UK, Australia... and those users are FAR less likely to have an Alexa toolbar installed.

great move, heck i haven't been here for long time to learn new information because the forum is full of noobs (no offense) and bots as well. mainly utilizing the buy sell section but even that i no longer do that oftenly because of the low quality products and services offered there. over-all for beggenirs its a great place i guess

Because Google doesn't log in as a user to spider? (only logged in users see signatures)

In my opinion, I don't care whether DP is do-follow or no-follow. Do you guys think that having a do-follow link in a page that has 40 other do-follow links really matter to you or search engines? It doesn't matter at all.

I love DP for the community and activity it has got. I can't get this anywhere else. Simply write a post asking or advertising your service, and I love the way I get PMs'. Though this site is known for "cheap" services in terms of cost, the user activity is what matters to me. I can not sell quality articles that are costly, but I can sell a medium article for low cost here. So IMO this announcement has nothing to do with me.

As far as Shawn is concerned, he is trying to make this place a cleaner one. I don't think that is wrong. I personally see hundreds of "thank you" post and think WTF! Hope that will reduce soon...

Doubt it will solve much of the spam related issues since there will always be users posting rubbish to attract new visitors with "Learn the secret" or "I earned..." posts.

Does this terminate the rule related to needed number of posts prior to signature enabling? It could lower the number of pointless short replies new members tend to leave.

do you block countries as well? Do you think this will make a major change in the way people use the sigs?

No, we aren't blocking countries. If it makes people have less spammy sigs, then good. :)

Damn, you caught a lot of HELL for this move but you know what...I do the same damn thing. No link on my forum is do follow unless it is whitelisted. The only domain white listed is the forum and all sub domains. So I agree with the move and support the fact that this forum belongs to you. You started the thing you run the thing and you own the thing. Your decision is the final decision.

Do follow has no affect on me. I have many backlinks to my site from other dofollow sites. I actually barely even build backlinks. My site has great content which causes people who want to to link to it.

Grow up you bunch of children. This long of a thread on the no follow which was has been here for a while? WOW, shouldn't you be optimizing your site's alt tags for images, adding content, and building your user base? Just curious!

    My rant is over!!! :)

The big question is why does members contribute for Digital point??
They don't earn any money(money is earned by owner),The contributer doesn't earn anything except the backlink.

Why do you do a lot of things in your life? Why do you read a book? Does it give you a back link? Does it earn you money?

If everything you do in life revolves around making money or getting a useless back link, then your life is pretty pointless my friend.
