Preemptive Arrests at RNC in St Paul

There are many videos out there from the Republican National Convention atSt. Paul. People are being harassed and arrested because they want to protest. Is USA turning into another China, with no regard to human rights or constitutional rights?

You can check out a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQFrhj5YHvc&feature=related. Also check out other related videos from the convention. Also check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BRfa5qTCyk&feature=related

Freedom of Speech, Freedom to gather peacefully and Freedom to petition the government are basic rights. But America is turning into a police state.

"people on bikes are being pulled over at gun point"

Not near as close as a police state as many foreign countries such as India, Sebia and many countries in the middle East and Africa.

There are quite a few requirements when protesting. They are required to be peaceful in nature is the first priority. We don't need any gay pride riots at the convention. :p

So, all the values the United States of America stood for, liberty, freedom to protest, freedom to petition the government are being trashed. And you're OK with it... Great to know. Today its these protesters, but tomorrow it could be you.

LOL... The Veterans for Peace were there to protest, not some gay parade guys. Check out the videos I gave you... Check the website http://www.veteransforpeace.org/

You are losing your rights, and you'll don't even know it.

"Fletcher said. Deputies seized a variety of items that they believed were tools of civil disobedience: a gas mask, bolt cutters, axes, slingshots, homemade "caltrops" for disabling buses, even buckets of urine."

I'm thinking that the cops probably had some info on these people. Cops can't do this without a warrant.

    Where are you from Gauharjk?

anarchist ron paul supporters are doing what they do best, setting dumpsters on fire, vandalizing, inciting riots, plots to kidnap delegates, violence, damaging personal property and assaulting others.

when nutjobs break the law, they get arrested. this includes ron paul supporters, who can so often believe the rules do not apply to them.

Isn't that odd? There were so many things that I liked about Ron Paul, but all of his supporters around here seem absolutely hateful and militant.

Ron Paul is a Republican, but his supporters hate Republicans?

Really, all of his supporters are militant and hateful?

Most do not hate what the Republican party once stood for, not this new found version of big government for starters.

Crap GRIM, don't play these games with me. You know a Ron Paul supporter that is not hateful? Great. Bring him around. It would be nice to meet one.

I don't like this George Bush big government either.

I support RP myself, I am not 'hateful' nor 'militant'

Can I be a prick? Sure I can, that's far from being hateful or militant..

    ---BTW
I know for a fact there are several people on DP who discuss in P&R who support RP, or think he's the best man out of the bunch, who simply have not said it in public. ;)

Yeah, it is a bit odd. Most of them, at least here on this forum, were from the far left side of the loony bin. Then suddenly they were all "republicans" and had to change their voting status, and then when they realized that spamming polls on the internet doesn't equate to real national support in the primaries, most of them switched back to the far left again.

I only recall two RP supporters here that were not hateful. nate was one and the other is female, but I forget her name off hand. She's always a very kind person and I believe is supporting McCain now.

RP's supporters primarily consisted of: anarchists (like those committing crimes at the convention), troofers, anti-semites and neonazis. Take those groups out of his support pool, and there wouldn't be much left.

Well, I don't know about all that. It just seemed like everytime I would browse a thread, there was someone with a Ron Paul avatar saying something evil.

Wow for someone who has no support according to some, 'some' sure use enough energy to bash the guy and his supporters.

Does anyone else find it extremely funny that a former 'liberal' who now is mr 'republican' is bashing supposed 'liberals' for becoming 'republicans'

Thanks for using the quote feature, I needed a laugh!
