No improvement in Google SERP even though I'm adding content.What can be done ?

i believe you may use other backlink checker other than backlinkwatcher while it not that accurate. 
There must be a problem of building backlink while it not index.
Ping only help you to ping your index page . 
Get more backlink from article, blog, forum and social bookmarking. Don't only depend on article submit.
 

 

After a slight increase in backlinks, my rankings have gone up a bit, from 40 to 35.  

 

keep updating SEO new strategy is the best way to getting rank along with add unique content in your own blog.

 

Now that many of my back-links have been indexed, it went into the top of page 3 and now somewhere in middle of Page 2.
My piece of advice for beginners which I'm sure must have been told thousands of times in this forum - Keep adding original/unique content, submit articles to article directories and blog commenting. This is just the beginning though, keep building strong and quality back-links, I'm sure the first page Google dream is not far off.

And yeah, pls don't buy every software/ebook which promises you top rankings in Google within a few hours/days. Instead go through the threads here in DP (use the "search" feature) and get a good SEO e-book, set your basics right.Educate yourself about the recent "Panda" update too.

 

You can always get some backlinks from authority sites in your niche, but depending on the keywords and their competitiveness it may take sometime

 

You need to optimize your On page SEO. Check your Title, Meta Tags etc. Try to find out what users are searching for and target those keywords on your page.
