No God?

Put aside all your religious beliefs and "I can't assume that" and "No way man" just assume for a split second, there is no God, no after life and the real point in life is that we are but a spec in the overall existence of time and space that based on a couple of fortunate points in time came to find ourself in a brief moment of consciousness. Going out on a limb, what would the point of it all be then?

Sorry but no, "can't believe it, there is a God" responses. Just put all that aside for a second, and think about the possibility, again, no "sorry, can't do it" post.

The point would be to make a difference now. The purpose of people's lives would be to alleviate the suffering of others and advance humankind, at least in my opinion.

We are a species of animal just like any other animal. To ask what is the point of our life is to ask what is the point of a dogs life.

Our unique level of intelligence and self-affirming nature has resulted in the belief in the theory of god to sanctify our existence as superioir and seperate from all other animals.

There is indeed no god, this is not hard to imagine.

It is much harder to imagine the scenarios of the original religious books actually coming true, much much harder.

What benefit is there in being a piece of crap? none.

There is a benefit in being nice, it makes a person feel good by releasing serotonin in the brain in both the recipient and the actor. Even just witnessing an act of kindness can cause the same effect.

We all have a deep instinctive desire sometimes buried that tells us it is right to be good and kind to our fellow man. We also have an opposite selfish desire that tells no take what I can get, what am I getting out of it?

Ahhh the struggle between good and evil....

    :D

May sound corny but I think being nice does benefit us in the end.....

Accepting whatever you said , the most important thing in life is peace of mind, since anyway as per you all this happening in world is temporary
So if someone gets peace of mind thinking of heaven why do you try to remove his piece of mind ?
