no follow Wordpress

Everytime I set up a Wordpress blog I get at least 10 or 15 fake comments a day that have nothing to do with my topic. It gets tiring deleting them and weeding through to find real ones. I think they are just people using some software to post on blogs to get a backlink. Is there a way to make my Wordpress blog no follow for links?

You can add the rel="nofollow" attribute to your articles to make them no follow but the current version of Wordpress automatically assigns this to all user submitted links on a Wordpress blog. You can read more on the Wordpress Codex.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

Yes, get the Akismet plugin for Wordpress too. It helps filter spam comments. You might want to get captcha on your comments section too.

do not use automatic approval on your comment box, so you can review the comments that came in and discard the irrelevant comment

Use Akismet and they would be caught automatically. If needed also add a second captcha alongside Akismet and no spam comments would ever enter.
