You ought to ask yourself why you are ignoring everyone else and concentrating on Google? The only misguided ones here are the ones that put all their eggs in that one basket. Doing so is a sink or swim proposition. You either do well, or you don't. Google's market share realistically is between 40-80% globally depending on who's making that claim on a daily basis.

The thing is, their market share varies greatly from locale to locale. Depending on what sites you have, where your audience is located, the market share varies considerably. Speaking from experience I've seen numbers equally as large with a combined total of other major SE's, vs. Google.

Now, I'm not suggesting you ignore google. What I am saying is, don't ignore everyone else. You'd be surprised how much money you're losing focusing primarily on Google.

In all honesty Jeremy, you are the one that should be asking yourself why you seem to be not getting much google love. If you are getting more traffic from other search engines quite clearly you are doing something wrong. I don't care what market we're talking about, google dominates every search market, and its not even close.

Stop trying to be different just for the sake of being controversial. I sure as hell am going to focus on the big G because they are the only bloody search engine that matters at this point in time.

Never said I was not getting much "google love".. I simply indicated that putting all your eggs in one basket is not a good idea. I think you're losing out focusing solely on one entity to drive traffic to your site.

It was indicated early on in this thread that when google takes a dump on your site, you're kinda SOL. I merely suggested that making sure your site is as SE friendly as you can make it to every SE is the best way to go if that happens. Then if you're not getting "google love", you're still making money.

I would argue that getting more traffic from other SE's means I'm doing something right, not wrong. I never said I was not getting "google love"...

Seems I've got a little bit of both.

Actuality, a few directories do have PR on pages deeper than 1 level, but only few pages.
For example, the Shopping/Jewellery/ subcategory of trailace.com has PR2 and some link detail pages also have PR.
But just as dvduval said, inner PR is not very important as before.

    just my two cents

A lot of directories don't bother building their own links.

I don't want to sound like a total jerk, but how on earth does a directory with almost zero content (could not find anything listed in any category) get to PR7? Just curious since we are talking about PR on directories?

The site looks like the (ISCO) International Institute of Asian Studies.. more than a directory. Seriously, what good is the Inner our Outer PR of a places like trailace , astnet or the former when its not real?

I think you all put way too much weight into PR with regards to directories.

May of us have spent years building directories with actual content and traffic generation rather than buying defunct asian domains that already have PR.

Be wary of those directories claiming they have high PR. More often than not its all utter BUNK.
