    The reason why you cannot create a "con" folder in windows is because it's a part of a MS-DOS command "copy con". This command is used for creating new files:

    C:\DOCUMENTS>copy con filename.ext

    Now, the problem is that "copy" is also a separate DOS command (used for copying files of course)

    So writing "copy con filename" would have created a confusion. (copy a folder named "con" vs "create a new file" :confused: ). Therefore, "con" was forbidden as a folder name.

    So...not only Microsoft knows WHY it's not possible to create such a folder, but, they also did that in purpose. :rolleyes:


    P.S. Something is wrong with your font size and nobody knows why. Plus, you have a link to a website that has nothing to do with the thread. Try using the signature option...

    CON stands for standard output
    try this:
    copy file.txt con
    it will echo file.txt at display

    You can not also create PRN folder because PRN stands for default printer :)
    copy file.txt prn
    will send file.txt to default printer

    I just made a folder named con on my windows, but only issue now is u cannot use this folder to put files into :)
