    Hi,

    I've just re launched my website www.flashculture.com with Adsense on the right side of the screen. I seemed to get a few clicks the first day (2 days ago) but since then nothing. I just checked and I've had 208 page impressions today and no clicks! I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any ideas?

    thanks for any advice.

    I also suggest changing the border color to the same blue color which the background is because the orange border stands out too much.

    I'm going to change the positioning of the Ad unit and see if that helps, thanks.

    Another thing though is that I've got the same ad appearing on all my pages, but I would prefer different ad's on different pages. All my content is inside a .swf so how can I get it to display different ads on each other the pages?

    thanks.

    I've just changed the ads to the left side, its just happened so I don't know the result of that yet, but just wanted to check with everyone, is everything ok with where they are? am I falling fowl of googles TOS in anyway?

    It is perfectly alright and I feel that you may placed the ads on perfect alignment with the content box

    you need to have patience before you have certain clicks

    the white title color of the ads does not stand out enough to draw attention away from the content on the center of the page.

    i would make the ad background the same color as the page, get rid of the border, and make the headline color of the ads a brighter color... maybe yellow?

    you should have small rectangular ad blocks interspersed with the content, like on the animation page... the only drawback there might be if adsense support objected to ads being too close to navigational areas, so create a test page, and ask 'em about it.

    Hi,

    After spending 3 weeks re-launching my website flashculture.com now I'm wondering if I should of done it in wordpress. What does everyone here think? My main concern is that I can get it to look exactly the same, with more or less the same functionality, I don't really want it looking like a "blog" so to speak.

    Ideally the front page would be like it currently is with just headlines? and not like most wordpress blogs i've seen which have a headline followed by text below.

    I don't know much about wordpress so hopefully people with experience here could advise me.

    You may be better off doing it in a blog, google does like blogs sites and you would have the benifit of a rss feed that you could submit to blog directories to increase traffic, link backs and pr etc.

    Also you may want to display an image banner rather than text links, just change your google code from:

    google_ad_type = "text";
    to
    google_ad_type = "image";

    Let us all know how you get on ;)

    hi flashculture..
    i think that ~200 impressions is not enough for making money from adsense.
    but we may check the earnings..may be something added to it:)

    I think its the type of ads appearing not their placement. The site is geared to people who want to play flash games but the ads are more for tutorials and making games. Your games.htm page has more "play free games" type ads and I suspect may have a higher CTR. Which pages give you better CTR? You may be able to force better ads by altering keywords & content.

    I'd also try a 728x15 or 468x15 link unit under your navigation bar.

    just increase your traffic, aim at getting related people to your website and new ones all the time more and more :)

    some people buy ad's on other sites then they start earning from there sites with the traffic they get :)

    I'm never sure if its better for the ad's to blend in with the rest of the site so people may click on things by accident (seems to be how a lot of sites use adsense) or to make the ad's stand out, so their very clear!

    Also I think I saw some code that gave a random colour for the title or something? but doesn't that mean you go against the adsense rules of changing the code?

    Dude, this isn't 1998, that attitude stopped working years ago.

    Build it
    Be the best
    Be viral
    Promote the hell out of it.
    Constantly innovate

    ......And they will come.
