Backlinks are being updated for sure. Give it another 24 hours. I've also seen HUGE jumps in the KW Tracker...
candysmith, just accept it. Google "hides" your backlinks for a reason -- they do not want you to see the complete list because that just facilitates manipulation of the system. That is not going to change any time soon. Google isn't trying to please webmasters. In a very real sense, webmasters are the enemies of search engines. Search engines need to evolve almost continuously to be able to serve up objective search results in spite of webmasters' attempts to jump the queue.
I got negative feedback for starting this thread. All I have to say for that is pltpltpltpltplt!!! My backlinks just went crazy.
I'm beginning to wonder if people aren't goping a little nuts on the negative reputation stuff as a way of trying to sabotage the reputation system. This is getting a little nuts, people. If you don't agree with a post, have the guts to say so or just go away, preferably to another forum. Any bets on how long it will take me to get a negative vote for this post? Some people are just pathetic... no other word for it.
I don't know what Google just snorted but I'm stoked. I've got keywords I've been chasing for over a year and look what just happened... http://www.raincheck.co.nz/test/digitalpoint.gif Sarah
I'd give you one, but it says I've voted too many times for you. Looks like I'll have to wait a month or so, but I gots mine eyes on you.
Sarah - I saw very similar results. Are you using the co-op? I just jumped to an 8th positioning on two kewords that are very competitive world wide. I've been tracking for a while. I saw a small jump last thursday in the middle of the index updates, about a 30th or so position, then when I woke up this morning, I was gifted with number 8. I'd like to think it's my hard work, so I'm going to keep at it with getting inbound links, but I won't be leaving the co-op any time soon.
