Hi, I've been pulling my hair for a few hours and need your help (plus I'd like to keep my hair ). I followed the setup instructions, and nothing appears where I place the ads on any page. So I thought this is what happens the first time you use DP. But when I go to validate my account it says "Ads not there... or whatever". Here is my setup: My website is comprised of html pages. I use SSI for various page elements like header graphics, menus, footers, copyright, etc... They are in a subfolder called "includes" and are htm files. My html webpages are all chmod 744 so the SSI elements will show. The include files and the DP php file are just left at the standard file permission (644). And of course, the txt file is 666. The only thing I didn't do is upload the .htaccess. If I do as in the setup NONE of the SSI elements show up in my pages. So my server at Dot5Hosting must have that automatically sorted out. I've tried that before and it doesn't like .htaccess files (they must be left blank). They also run php4.0. On my index.html page the bottom menu is hard coded in that page so I added the include: <!--#include virtual="/ad_network_336.php" --> just under it. I noticed if I added the full http: URL for that file I get a processing error. For my bottom menu htm file (used by all the other html pages) I also added: <!--#include virtual="/ad_network_336.php" --> Now that bottom menu file is also called up by my html pages with: <!--#include virtual="includes/menu-btm.htm" --> Initially I thought that nesting an include statement within another one may be the problem. However why doesn't the include statement work on my index page? The area where the adds should show is blank. The URL to my site is: http://www.1st-4-web-hosting.com The URL to my include footer file is: http://www.1st-4-web-hosting.com/includes/menu-btm.htm Note that all my html pages on this site are in the root directory. Only include files, scripts and graphics are in there own subdirectories. The add I chose in setup is the 5 ad text only option. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Regards, David PS It's a shame this is so HARD. I bet a lot of people just give up. I nearly have. This forum is my last resort.
If your file extensions aren't .shtml, you will need to change the line towards the end of the PHP file: From: if (substr (@$_SERVER['DOCUMENT_NAME'], -6) == '.shtml') { PHP: to this: if (substr (@$_SERVER['DOCUMENT_NAME'], -6) == '.shtml' || @$_SERVER['DOCUMENT_NAME'], -6) == '.html') { PHP: (for example if your files ended with .html).
