No ads showing for a keyword I've specified.

Not only are my ads not showing, in some cases no ads are showing.

My site sells roleplaying games and gaming supplies. I have a large selection of keywords marked as lacking in relevance. That's interesting, in that--while my kids see me as irrelevant--the ads refer directly to the game titles, the publisher, and so on.

It appears my account is caught in that "account under review" catch-all, although the only expressed issue is relevance. I have a specific landing page that is dedicated to one publisher's games, and I'm using quite specific keywords.

Google professes a dedication to user experience. In fact, that's the most likely reason given for a particular rejection or limitation: a "poor" user experience.

Doesn't the experience of the advertiser matter in this whole scheme to Google? I find no compelling reason for my ads not to be shown, and I certainly can't see why Google would choose to show no advertising at all for a keyword I've bid on. Whose "user experience" is served by that?

I certainly hope that Google has decided to "review" my site and that the logjam will break apart soon. I don't understand why Google chooses to hide that fact that they are looking things over before cutting me loose. I've advertised successfully on Google in the past with no complaints, and with an excellent history of compliance.

Upon beginning my new campaign, I feel Google is holding me back and not admitting it. I'm willing to comply with Google's rules, and I can take criticism if I'm just missing the mark somehow. I've been through the tools (Campaign Optimizer, AdWords Optimizer) and I have Google Analytics enabled. Also, Google Checkout is my sole payments provider.

Having no exposure for a legal business (not sure if I can provide a link here) based on Google tools is decidedly a bad user experience. Is Google listening? I'm complaining about Google giving a BAD user experience for advertisers by withholding important information.

    Can anyone help?

    Hello Nick,

I can't give a 100% accurate answer for your question, since I don't know the history of your account, your landing page, your keywords, etc. But usually when Adwords says that your keywords is not relevant then you need to revise your landing page so that the keyword would be more prominent OR you can just bid on different keywords.

Why don't you contact them directly? In your case, where you really don't know what is happening, this would be the thing I would do. If your account is under review, you may get the info why.

I had it and they reviewed my paying details. After that everything started to work out great again.

it's very difficult to say without having full information about your account. Perhaps go into the Google keyword tool - look up your keyword and see how much competition there is for it

Look like you already have account history with them thus not sure why is it showing under review. Why don't you call them or chat with them directly, sometimes its just an error on their part.

You need to contact them directly and ask for good explanations.... It's hard to tell, there can be many reasons for your ads not to show.
