I have Query or Keywords that puts my Blog at No.1 on Google SERP. I think that this would be a good effect for my Blog's Google Page Rank. But after reading a page whose contents are: ---...Google does not use HTML keyword or meta tag elements for indexing. The Director of Research at Google, Monika Henziger, was quoted (in 2002) as saying," Currently we do not trust metadata because we are afraid of being manipulated"...--- I became doubtful that No.1 on Google SERP will automagically increase Page Rank. In addition, I didn't use Meta Descriptions and even Meta Keywords for my Blog. What do you think???
Your position in serps for any keyword does not have any influence on PageRank. Google have said categorically that they don't use the meta keyword tag, and the meta description tag has always been used to extract a snippet - not for ranking - and neither of those things have anything to do with PageRank I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve? what do you want to increase your PageRank for?
Now, everything is getting more clear. Thanks Starcaller. You know, I actually didn't even think about PR, I feel that it's still "far away" from my ability in blogging. I'm just thinking about How to make a unique content based on very limited resources that I have...
Page rank is a "dead man walking"... The fact that you are PR1 or PR5 does not really effect your SERP only thing like crawl rate. The be on the first page for your niche and your traffic are much more important in my mind.
PR is nothing to do with SERP's. I have read many threads over DP where people are querying about SERP"s and PR. They say that pages that do not have any PR are beating pages which have PR even more than 4. The things are simple as SERP's is nothing much to do with PR.
I've read most post, and many said that SERP has nothing to do with your PR. Having good SERP doesn't guarantee you a good PR or vice versa period.
