One IT company, Livedoor, caused the Nikkei index dropped down 900 points!! in two days. That's crazy. I wonder the same thing have ever happened in US
Well, that is the power of corporations and how much influence they have these days. And yes, it can happen here in the US, and probably will in the future. I was considering investing in the stock market but I think I'm going to avoid it. I believe we will see another market crash in the next few years. The stock market is a joke.
"Livedoor struggling financially after advertising revenue plummets" Scandal-tainted Livedoor Co. is struggling financially after advertising revenue plummeted following the arrest of former executives over a stock price manipulation scandal. Livedoor asks for between 800,000 yen and 2 million yen for a one-week advertisement on the top page of its online site but has been struggling to attract advertisers since the scandal surfaced. The Livedoor group announced that its sales were 1.3 billion yen in its September 2005 settlement, up 9.8 percent from the same period the previous year. At that time, the Internet company said advertising revenue had drastically swelled because of a surge in viewers to its site. However, after former President Takafumi Horie and several other executives were arrested in January, major clients such as NTT Communications, Tokyo Electric Power Co. and Nissan Motor Co. ceased advertising with Livedoor. 800,000 - 2,000,000 yen per week!!!! That's 8,000 - 20,000 dollars guys! WOW!
