had a generic nigerian scam email regarding an ad i place with a link to an amazon affiliate page with xbox360 on it for sale at price stated in ad. they came back saying they wanted to buy and how could they pay. i told them to go to the link and got another email back asking how they can pay. iv had lot of scammers with nigerian emails so i thought i would have some funso i said credit card as this is normally a sure fire way to get rid of them as you cant send a fake credit card email (like they do with paypal) then low and behold they send me credit card details. - not in the emailers name of course. all very strange all very dodgy. the curious git in me wants to charge the card and see what happens (of course im not gonna do this. ) but these details must belong to someone and i want to tell someone about this to see if i can prevent this guy getting his card ripped off. im in the uk. - can i report this to anyone
As of the 21st of this month here in the UK, you can no longer report credit card fraud to the police Instead, you have to go to the card issuer instead and it is their responsibility to deal with the problem and inform the authorities... is it a UK issued card?
thats a given. iv been scammed b4 which is why i only use my prepaid cards online. just thought id try make the effort to help whoevers card this is.
