NicheBot: What's a "good" search count?

About how many searches (in NicheBot's Count column) should a keyword have? Some keywords I like seem like great niches, but when the Count column shows a number like 250 (which, as I understand it, is combined searches over a whole year?!) I just think it's way too few searches. What do you think? Or is it even worth it to use tools like NicheBot?

Yes, the count is over an entire year. So 250 is a waste of time. I tend to go for keywords in the 5 figure range, as there is less competition, but still enough to get good traffic. Dont forget to use the ratio column as your critical indicator.

With NicheBot, I like to see counts of 2k or over and ratios of 5 or less.

But, it all depends on how many pages you are willing to make.

If you spend a month optimizing for a term, you want a really good search count. If you run a script to autogenerate content, you can go after really low-volume terms.

For me, a page takes about an hour to write. My numbers are based upon that.
