I just bought a BANS and right now it seems that my biggest hurdle is finding a niche to run through my store. I have been told about finding keywords via Google and/or using a niche finding software (purchasing the software is not an economical decision that I can endure right now). So, what I am looking for are some creative ways to find a niche where it doesn't hit me in the pocket.
For niches, use the old adage, find a need and fill it, stay away from electronics as its way over crowded. Find a niche that is something everyone needs then go type that in at google adwords and it will show you most searched keywords.
Everything around you could be a niche. Find something you are passionate about, have knowledge in, a hobby, or even free items like video sites. For some ideas visit www.nichefree.com. It's my blog I just started to give people niche ideas without having o buy software. Jerry
Jerry, I stumbled upon your site not too long ago and it has been one of the first that I visited and it is indeed full of information. In regards to finding a niche, does it matter that the niche has to be something that is sold via eBay?
You can find weird new niches by checking out popular searches on eBay. Register for the eBay Developers Program (if you haven't already), and use something like FindPopularSearches: http://developer.ebay.com/devzone/shopping/docs/callref/FindPopularSearches.html
