I would like some help on where to start ? Research, Analysis, ANy Guides ? Secondly, Is there any list of currently top earning niches ?
start a niche on which you have good command in interest you the most, so that you do it for a long time to come w/o getting bored.
Anything you find on a list is no longer a niche, at least in terms of competition. Stay away from those unless you feel you have the seo skills to get your site to the top and you feel that the payout is worth the effort. If you're just starting out you'd be better off finding a good topic where the competition isn't even trying to promote that particular keyword. That way you can gain some experience before you go head to head with a seasoned web developer.
selecting a niche is a thing of 2000..Nowadays every niche has a good set of competitors. You will have to fight it out. It's always better if you choose a niche where you have a good command. Atleast, you will be sophisticated enough to give something unique to your visitors..
That's only true if you're talking about high profit keywords. There's still more than enough niches with moderate payouts that are under developed or have no real competition. If you can't find them then thats your problem. Anyways thanks for the good laugh.
Strongly agree with Xoox. Pick something you love and then maintaining it won't seem like your just grinding it out. It will most likely have better articles/ content because it is something that you are passionate about and willing to spend time on.
That's not true. There's something called a barrier to entry... $$, technical knowledge, skills, training, licenses, resources, etc. that can limit competition. Some markets are harder to get into. That's why terms like monopoly were created. Or: An oligopoly is a market form in which a market or industry is dominated by a small number of sellers (oligopolists). You just hard to look harder and work harder. My market is such an example. I have half a dozen competitors at most. David Beyer
There's nothing wrong with creating a site about something you enjoy, but don't confuse passion with profits. Your website isn't a field of dreams...
You shouldn't be looking at lists of top earning niches..because millions of other people are doing the same thing...It's like technology if you've already heard people talking about you've missed the wave. What you need to look for is something that has very little competition.
Is it so difficult to understand? My emphasis was more about selecting a niche where you have more command and sophistication. There is nothing called an 'ideal niche' today where you can thrive. If you are indeed finding it out, so is somebody from somewhere else and you have competition. And then the one with better authority in the area is going to win. I am talking long-term and you for a peanut dollars for the short-term. Good luck!
You should definitely choose something you enjoy for your first niche. If you have a particular knowledge about a certain subject, it is a great way to start out, you may not strike it rich first time, but it will give you the best experience. Choose something you enjoy, work at building it up and learn from your mistakes. Then you can go after other niches with the knowledge you have earned.
That's fine if you stumble over a topic which earns well. Then by all means develop your site and establish yourself, but don't try and tell people they should do this for every niche. There's no point in sinking time and effort into a low income niche. You're fighting for "peanut dollars" as you put it, but I have no problem accepting peanut dollars if it's there for the taking for no effort.
Try to pick something that's not too popluar, so you can limit your competition right away. Trying to pick a niche of interest will also keep your attention, and passion in business at all times. Westoff.
