Niche or General?

    So I have created a Blog site, at the moment this is a General blog site because my content does vary from post to post, is this actually a good thing?
    Or should I pick a very niche subject and just blog about that?

    Looking at your blog, i cant even tell what its about. When you say "general" do you mean "GENERAL"...as in just about anything?

    Think about it this way...there are 50 million websites....if your blog is about everything, chances are you are not going to provide a deep enough value to someone looking for info on baseball or music or thailand because you are so spread thin over ALL topics, vs a blog that is specifically about Barry Bonds. The more niche, the better IMO.

    Thanks John for your advice, OK point taken so you recon something Niche is better then?
    Ok so say I did a blogsite about films, as in my personal take on films and locations etc?

    NP PuffyBlog. You could even get more niche than "personal take on films". You could narrow it down to a specific genre of films or time period, etc.

    I have changed the whole look of my Blog and I have gone for a Hints & Tips Blog, I know some of these can be seen as general but alteast they have a category.
    Take a look if you like and let me know if its better?
    The old posts will slowly filter away when my new content takes over :)

    It will really depend on what you're good at. A niche blog is good if you know the topic very well. If you think you are an expert in a subject, then a niche blog is good. A general reference blog can be good as well, as you can talk about more things.

    I always prefer niche based blog as it will help you to keep the things organized and also help you to get targeted audience for your offers. Which will convert very well.

    Niche is better. It is much easier trying to monetize targeted traffic.

    Grow your audience with a niche,
    Youre answer on here kills it. No need to write in essence the same thing lol
