Niche directory submissions Pros and Cons

Discussion in 'Directories' started by estateguy, Nov 28, 2008.

I have a number of niche directories that focus on the 2nd tier of my marketing niche. I have a 350 page site dealing with estates (my top tier niche).

    The Pro
My sub niche directories do great in Google and Yahool search. Type in probate realtors in Google (= #1 position).

    The Con
Listing volume is scarce. Becasue the niche is narrow.

Any ideas how I might get more of a mass market exposure to this niche. My target group is realtors. Probate realtors is a new and sound method for realtors to get real estate listings. I would like to associate with a directory site that caters to realtors. Beacuse I have a number #1 Google ranking, I do think I have something to offer...

    IDEAS?

You should also try to populate the directory yourself with quality listings. Look for some offline methods to advertise your directory along with other real estate listing websites. If you highlight the traffic you can get more people to list in your directory.

Please explain quality listings. The word 'Quality' is confusing and many don't get the gist of it.

Do you mean 'special or good websites' that get listed or merely the purging of junk from a directory.

    See quality could mean:

    • unique sites/companies
    • 1 type of company only to be listed
    • directory won't accept junk submissions
    • known websites only
    • just refers to 'a nice web design' - but shame about what's listed hehe

Find out where probate lawyers, estate lawyers and Realtors that specialize in those properties hang out, online and off.

Is any of that 350 pages of content something any of those folks would find interesting and useful?

Do you have advertising on your primary site for the directory? Are you promoting a "directory" or a way to "advertise your real estate business"? Keep in mind that with niche directories you will have more folks who might understand the need for links but not have ever heard of a "directory" other than the phone book.

You seem to be positioning yourself as an expert in this field - see if you can get into the trade journals by writing an article.

I would suggest you stop looking at this as your primary and secondary sites and instead see them as all part of the same business. They are so tightly aligned that it would seem each could send traffic and business to the other.

A good pro is you get perfectly targeted traffic - so better conversions/submissions hopefully

I think you are 'special' to think that that is what quality could represent.
And when I say 'special', it is NOT a good thing either.

Little did you know that I was on your directory and about to buy a listing, then I read your insulting post and red rep, well that's a $34.99/yearly fee you just lost.

That's fine with me. I don't need your business. My projects have done extremely well before you, without you, and will continue to do the same after you.

Oh and contrary to your belief in that, as per you red rep:

"A retard lol - maybe, but I get more traffic than you and make more money than you hehehe"

    1. I bet you don't.
    2. You're still a ret~~d

Tell someone else about your fictitious stories of being held at gunpoint.

Now, should I call you Red_Knight or Event_King?
