Niche directory OK! But what script??

Hello Friends,

Its been nearly a long time I haven't posted something. Anyways, I would now like the advice of some of my fellow members.

I wanted to enter into gambling niche from a very long time, finally I have managed to get a gambling domain of my choice.

I am as of now working towards the planning of the portal, the site will need atleast 1month of action after planning and will launch after 3-4 months.

Now I am confused with one thing... PHPLD or PHPLinkBid?

I know that interms of revenue both can do well, but I am not concerned here about revenue, coz that's not what I am interested in.

I am confused in terms of stability, growth and modification.

Both have a mastermind guru behind them, ie., anon and mike.. thus it increases my confusion.

If you were to enter a niche what script would you go in? What must I do?

You will have more options with the PHPLD with more functionality and mod options, gambling is a huge sector and as you are based in Asia your site negates the US Regs and Laws on gambling ................so you will do huge business outside the states................go for it .............and good luck

Any directory script that support custom fields will suit for niche directory.

 

I would choose PhpLD for the project.

 

right now the strength of phpld is limited,
phpld is still my choice whatever niche or not.

PhpLB doesn't seem to be the love of lot of directory owner here!

 

In all honesty, in terms of stability, growth/flexibility/scalability(especially), modifications, use wordpress!

 

Remember I've seen a WP based directory a while ago...is there any directory plugin for that?

I think the phpLD (the newest) is the way to go. I'm a little surprise that most have not taken the CMS features in phpLD. You can add contents with your Niche directory and have it place on a selective categories where it is relevant.

Explore! and do more with phpLD.

 

Make a custom script. I'm tired of seeing all of these directories with the same script.

 

Can anyone show me examples of directories running on WordPress so that I can compile a list? I am currently starting a project where I plan to offer free and premium WordPress plugins, and converting WordPress into a directory via plugins seem like a viable product that I can offer from this project

 

You can use IndexU Deluxe 1.2.1. from nicecoder.com. With IndexU Deluxe you can make custom field with any type if field like : text area, text, select, multi select, file upload, etc. You can also remove standard field, like url, title, description, etc. You can do all of it without coding, just set them in the admin area.

There are plugins in Indexu Deluxe that are ready to use, like : yahoo map, google radius search, you tube, etc.

 

Unfortunately my script may not ready this month. It take different approach with most directory script that available today. If you like joomla, then you will like my script. Less template, and the power of content position. Other important thing is the custom fields will be available for major data table.

- I use phpLinkBid and phpLinkDirectory. I Prefer using phpLinkBid because I don't get Nearly as many Spam Submissions as I get when using phpLinkDirectory.
