I am thinking of buying 30 niche directories (well having them built for me). My niche is office supplies and office furniture and i have been busy submitting to every free one i could find and now started a good high quality pr portfolio of incoming links. A directory builder has recommended having 30 niche directories that i could populate with my own deep links and fill will relevant text etc. - obviously this will be a good thing long term for my site. My question is; To market these directories can i get the pr up with ANY high ranking pr links rather than the painstaking tast of finding relevant links, i dont care about these directories being found i only want to grow the pr (which passes onto my actual site) which of course is where i make my money through sales etc? Hope this makes sense, basically if you are only after pr and not position is relevancy inportant? any advice would be welcome
I suggest you strongly reconsider that action and Build only ONE Directory And concentrate on marketing and supporting one directory while at the same time building trust and integrity imho
It is a lot of work to build a successful site, so having 30 unsuccessful sites to link from won't do you much good. Start with 1 or 2 niche directories and see how much time and money it costs to build them up and then move on from there.
That's a lot for to concentrate don't forget that pr is logaritmic , I don't think you'll be able to promote and work on each of them.Of course links will be useful for pr for the directories they don't have to relevant but relevan links will help much better.
i have barely enough hours in 1 day to manage my TWO directories and you want to manage how many??? have u managed any directories before? If you have, then i guess you know what you are getting into. If you have not, pls stop, dip your head in cold water, then let's talk about this again
thats great advice, please don't forget i don't want to get into directories - this is purely to promote my OWN website - i don't want other people submitting to it for some time and then i think i will charge a premium. you have made me think though i will start off with one or two and let them settle - the only thing i want from the directory is links juice not a revenue.
If you are just doing it to promote your own sites there are easier and cheaper ways. Seems like a lot of work and trouble just to get 30 links. Submit to 30 directories instead of building 30 directories.
A directory where you will be the only site? Who do you think will link to such a site? Can't imagine many of the high quality directory owners here accepting such a site. My advice - forget the directory and make a blog.
Hhhhmmmm! good point, got blog which is going well - i am just trying to cover all my bases but you are right the work involved would far outway the benifits. it was something suggested by a DP member who has done some submissions for me. Ta for advice everyone - once again DP members have shown to be the all seeing eye and the voice of wisdom!!!
