How well do niche directories do in getting rank in Google and performing with Adsense? An example I saw in this forum was http://www.greenstalk.com/. Do this sites actually get into SERP's or do they just help with backlinks?
I realize this response is coming three years later, but I just joined the forum. Although it doesn't look the greatest, there are a lot of great things going on with this directory. Two of which are that the directory now has a pagerank of 6 and the alexa rank is down to 110,287. With a pagerank of 6, this directory is sure to be passing pagerank to other sites. It's also got to be helping the sites it's linking to through anchor text. It also links to these sites from pages that are dealing with a related subject to these websites. While this directory is good, I also think it is missing a step. I would classify this niche directory and domain name as a main directory. The way this site directory is currently set up will benefit the sites it links to but not as much as it could because of its lack of an intermediate niche directory. Currently the hierarchy of this directory looks like this: Main Directory->Adsense Sites To get maximum benefit out of this directory, I would have the hierarchy look like this: Main Directory->Niche Directory->Adsense Sites I talk more about this on my blog adsenseexplosion.com.
