I'd try and find a smaller niche. For example, web development is common. Try something like "blog design" or "Personal websites". Something smaller you can specialize in. Focus your keywords on that, so you don't have to compete with something as large as "Web Development". You also get the ability to specialize as a developer, allowing you to build things faster, even pulling from your code library more often. It gives you the ability to be cheaper and more profitable at the same time.
