Hi Guys, One of my website has a pretty nice traffic but the click through ratio is pretty bad. The website is www.codenamegenerator.com. Any suggestion? Thanks, JB
What's the actual traffic, I see your Alexa rank it's about 3,000,000 so I don't think you're having enough traffic and also if you submitted your site to stumbleupon or different sites you might have traffic but that traffic doesn't generate very much clicks. About the ads placement, you should really re-think the site design and blend the ads with the site, you should put the code generation form at the bottom of the site, put some square ads near the text ( like 2 columns with text and ads ) and try different positions for your ads. This is just my opinion, you should listen to what others have to say.
Good suggestions. Thanks. I'm puzzled about Alexa. That site has about 5 times more traffic that another site I have which rank around 1,800,000...
1 ad unit placed on top of the page is too isolated and located quite far from your site content. As a visitor, the moment that I arrive, my attention will be focused towards the content located at the middle and therefore I wouldn't be bother much about the ad units placed too far away. I hope that helps
following your suggestions, I changed the design. What do think of the integration? Is it too much now?
A few questions I should have asked before: Do you think that Adsense is the best way to monetize the site? Maybe I would be better off using something like Kontera? I probably can't mix both but that would be cool. Could I do Adsense link units + Kontera or will that violate the TOS?
The use of Adsense and Kontera ContentLink together is not a violation of TOS. The combination works very well as Kontera ads supplement adsense revenues.
Well well...forgive me to say this but I just think your site is hard to couple with ads, it's the niche. Just put yourself in the visitor place, what would you expect ? what ads should work? I can't think at any kind of ads working. It's only my opinion, maybe I am wrong.
