Unless you're going to a fancy dinner, I'd probably say no. Something more multi-purpose would be more appropriate for the first date. Something that will allow for dinner and a movie perhaps, or dinner and dancing, dinner and nice walk. the dress, while gorgeous (love the color), seems more fancy dinner/theater appropriate and unless that's the date, you run the danger of possibly intimidating your date.
