As for Sitepoint... I think the pay-to-play format will hurt them in the long run. It is good now, and generates revenue, however, over time, lurkers and new members are probably going to be less likely to dip their toe in the water when they can go somewhere else and do it for free. Over time the base will erode with a slow influx of new blood leaving fewer people participating in the long-run and making the service much less valuable.

I don't really blame them for doing it, I am just pretty convinced it is a poor long-term business strategy.

 

If SP has banned you, you can also start a contest at namepros for free with no minimum payment for the design. If you have more than one, start the second in the design contests section of my forum

Actually, that's not why you got banned. Would you like to have me tell the real reason, for the record? In fact, I should probably alert Shawn and the mods here about the kind of stuff you were doing at Sitepoint. Do that here at DP and they'll give you the boot too.
