Having this weekend off is good.

I'm still recovering from Sunday.

I just got my numbers for the $500 per entry football pool.

    Bears-Colts
    6-7, 7-6, 9-9, 5-0

Those are some good numbers too. Possible combinations at least! Not sure about 5-0 in the 4th though. That one's rough.

I haven't watched any games since the Giants/Jets lost. However, Colts > Bears.

He's the most feared SS in football, though. I don't know where you're getting your stats from but name 1 player in his position that you'd put up against him ... I'm going to bet that any Veteran would much rather have the other hitting him. :)

Deion was considered a great corner and I don't think he ever tackled anyone much less tried to tackle them.

Ed Reed, Rodney Harrison, either of the Eagles safeties!

:) did you in fact watch every Cowboys game this year including pre-season?

I obviously made up the numbers aside from the INT's.

he WAS a HUGE liability in the secondary. Granted the pass rush was nearly non-existent and hey...Pat Watkins is not Darren Woodson so....

BUT he wasn't even effective 2nd half of the year...he missed tackles left and right!

he had all of one tackle in @ least one game this year possibly more.

he was a shell of what you know of THE Roy Williams

    I only missed 1 game, actually :)

I would NOT put Ed Reed or Rodney Harrison up against Roy Williams, sorry, but let's be serious here. If you're an Eagles fan, I apologize - but they're just nowhere near his caliber.

Roy Williams didn't get popular because he hurt people ... he got popular because in College he was a beast and in the NFL - he's a beast. No, he's not the best cover man in football (although, several people had mentioned that this season) but he RARELY, if ever, misses tackles. Sure, I seen him miss a few over his career (even with Oklahoma) but he's a big play maker. Much like Urlacher - you will find him all over the field. He's the guy you love to hate because he's just-that-good.

On top of that - much like Urlacher - he's quiet and just plays hard. He's a class act and doesn't need to show off with any big mouth nonsense. He just does his job better than any other safety in the game, hurts big name players and keeps his mouth shut.

I'm not sure what games you've watched this year but I did watch all but 1 game, to be honest.

Now he's definitely not the fastest guy...not the quickest guy...but it's like Donovan McNabb said "he's just the one guy you don't want near you when you're trying to make the big play; he's there to hurt you on every play."

I would ask you the same question, what games are you watching????

    Honestly, I am asking.

I am a Cowboys fan in fact. Read the web site and listen to the radio shows all year and you might be a little more clued in.

Look, Roy is a great safety, he just didn't play great this year for whatever reason.

OR, to your point about the F_Eagles - maybe it's just the Eagles know to play better D overall. Maybe it wasn't even Roy so much that the Cowboys scheme. Teams KNEW how to isolate him and got him in bas spots countless times this year.

Hey, how about the Seattle game, Roy on a blitz, WHIFFS and I mean WHIFFS on Alexander, should have been a 3rd down loss in the backfield but as it was he didn't even touch him and it was a 1st down run. How many pro-bowl safeties do that? And it wasn't the first time.

You must be going to get snacks when he's not making plays? Come on. He missed a ton of stuff this year. It was like watching Newman's sophomore year...no confidence.

And what? Urlacher?? You're either very naive or on something no offense. Urlacher is all world. Did you see him covering backs and TE's 30-40 yards down the field during the playoffs? He's a LB and can do that. Roy, a safety, his primary job description is to cover and he can't hang with a receiver more than 7 yards past the line of scrimmage.

He just not get it done this year and to think otherwise you're just kidding yourself.

It's not like I want the guy to fail I just think he needs to pick it up about 3 notches.

And being quiet? Since when is that a good attribute? I mean yeah, you don't want a punk ass Deangelo Hall on your team but come on. This D is desperately in need of some vocal leadership. A lot of people wish Roy would step up to the plate in that regard.

Bottom line, it's not all Roy's fault but he wasn't exactly putting on his trademark kill shots this year. I can recall one, maybe 2 really great hits where he "brought the wood".

I got a call from my kids Dentist the other day. My son's appointment is February 6th. The reason for the call was to cancel the appointment and reschedule. Given that I live in the FIB playground, Lake Geneva, most everyone here appears to be Bears fans, my kids Dentist included. I can only assume the reason for the cancellation is that he will be going to the SuperBowl.

    What a shitbag.

    1. He's a dentist (has more money than God)
    2. You should see his office (Crazy Rob would go ape shit - its like Bears heaven, from the colours on the walls to the Bear memorabilia hanging from the ceiling.)
    3. SuperBowl is 4th, appointment was the 6th. (Two day recovery? No, one day travel, one day recovery)

He's going to the SuperBowl. I KNOW IT!!!!

One of the gals in my office paid $3400 for her tickets. That's nuts. $3400 could get you round trip airfare and a day at the bunny ranch with change to spare. She paid $3400 just for the tickets. Still has to come up with travel and lodging.
