Windows 7 could be the next XP. I heard a lot of positive feedback regarding this Operating System. The one good thing is they are offering Vista user an easy upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 which is great!

Windows 7 will have to face severe competition form Google Chrome OS. Windows 7 also having open browser options to select from. Security is the major issue which is improved in this version.
Google Chrome OS is just another distro of linux. Ubuntu with all that fuss made around it wasn't much of a competition. Do you have any reasons to believe Chrome OS will do any better? Is it better then Ubuntu in any way? Is it better marketed? Haven't seen any publicity yet for it.... Then again...severe competition would mean stealing a couple of procentages in marker share right? Do you see 10-20 million (less then 1% of the market share) users switching to Chrome any time soon? Keep in mind they won't be able to run their usual programs, games, or anything that they are used to. Also, linux systems are a bit harder to use, they aren't for the weak of heart.. Given that, I don't see any severe competition in the close future, no matter what those marketers are trying to say. Yes, they claim very daring things. Every new product these days comes as windows killer, google killer, iphone killer, *whatever* killer, but most of them don't live up to their expectation. Stealing a big chunk of someone elses market share is usually very hard, because people are used to the old product and don't want to change. Change takes time, and enormous publicity. The viral Ubuntu campaign should be a perfect example on how hard it is to penetrate a market.
I installed windows 7 RTM by USB last night. It is good operating system. Certainly, it is better than vista. You can review my blog at: thaolv.blogspot.com
