When do you guys think the next version of windows will be hitting our screens? Do you think it will be even worse that vista I had vista installed for a day or so and rollbacked to XP. I was also thinking with Dell starting to push alot of ubuntu's OS's with their systems will some sort of Linux be the next big OS.
I think your not updating yourself, as windows 7 Beta and RC build versions are around from more than 6 months. And final windows 7 version will be releasing on 22nd October officially by Microsoft.
The earliest you'll see it on the shelf is late this year but more likely will be early/mid next year before we actually see it. Depends on how well the Beta/Developments/Antitrust issues go.
dell is already in huge loss hence it cannot afford microsoft licenses... i think next version of microsoft will have linux kernel... linux is the future
I think Windows 7 will be great! The Beta is really good, and its much faster than Vista. I'm looking forward to get Windows 7. Don't know when it will be realeased though.
I heard great things about Windows 7, but hadn't have time to test. I am a happy Vista user anyway . The only problem I had with Vista was the lack of support for IPX protocal that I needed for Stracraft . Besides this problem, now I couldn't live without: - the instant search from Vista - file/directory history that got me out of trouble a few times
I have been using Windows 7 RC for like a week now...it is definitely faster than Vista versions. The new taskbar is awesome along with the aeropeek feature.
I bet the next biggest and best operating system will be a MAC compatible backwards OS; meaning it can also be installed on a PC. That would totally burn out Microsoft... but what if Microsoft made a backwards PC OS for MAC users? Now that would be an interesting race to the finish line. Personally I think that a linux/pc OS combination would be best to hit all targets.
I would love to dump winders. Problem is a couple little things like Photoshop and Dreamweaver and a couple small investment things. Get them available on one of the multitude of Linux distros and I am gone. Oh yes I have 2 legal XP cd's still in the package. Works ok so... Having a new box built sometime in the next 2 weeks.
I've bought new Dell lately (Quite fast!) and installed Ubuntu.. This is really a nice speed experience, Boot takes 9 seconds (Unlike Windows 7 which takes 18-20 seconds). I think that Ubuntu have great future if you ask me. Aside that, After Windows 7 I think that Microsoft is going to compete woth Chrome OS and better version of Ubuntu (Not to mention the great Mac OS).
The beta version is fairly stable, but i know there starting to push you off the beta versions by making the computer automatically restart after every so often.
Window 7 is recent release of MSN, i don't think they will announce any other version before widow 7 success.
