This is extremely exciting. All prior attempts at AIDS vaccines invariably fail because the protein covering of the virus always changes. Now, scientists have found a spot that DOES NOT CHANGE. Antibodies can then bind to this location and provide immunity to HIV.

Maybe not at first, but eventually it will be, there will be too much pressure on them to do it :)

Interesting, hopefully this will be the breakthrough the whole world is waiting for.
Durex may suffer a decrease in condom sales :p

Some time ago i saw a documentary about street prostitutes in Nairobi that are immune against the HIV virus and can't get AIDS due to the fact their T Cells are different or something, more resistant.

So if these women can't get AIDS from working on the streets of Nairobi there is a chance to find a cure against AIDS.

Now all we need is a cure for cancer!
And then cure for "death" (for those who call death a "disease")

Cure for death is already in the making ;)

Basically a natural death is because your cells wear out and can't heal themself, that's why we wrinkle and shrink with age.
Now there is work being done to create nano technology to repair the deterioration in the cells that makes us older and eventually let us die.

The thing is though, it's impossible to live forever! Literally impossible.

Unless we created our own universe, making our own rules etc. But even then it would probably be unstable! :p
And I have a feeling man's power won't reach the stage of "universe creation!"

I read something on some science site a while back about alligator blood being able to kill off HIV with ease. Gonna have to look up the article again.

There was also an HIV vaccine tested a few weeks back, instead of trying to kill off the virus it simply makes it impossible for it to take over host cells.

There is very interesting progress made in the fight against cancer. A new study sees cancer primarily as a METABOLIC condition as opposed to cell MUTATIONS GONE AWRY (the current paradigm). See http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn10971 Since DCA is off patent it is extremely cheap and already well tested.

As a person who lost several loved ones to cancer, this is extremely good news. Hopefully, we'll see the cure to HIV/AIDS and most forms of cancer within 30 years.

VDs are punishment for unhealthy lifestyle. Here is a wild idea for a vaccine alternative - no sex with VD carriers.
