He's the strongest contendor for the election of the President of the United States. He is not the strongest condendor for the Democratic Primary. There is a difference there.

Hillary is not electable, with about half of the public saying they WILL NOT vote for her. Obama is not electable as he is a black man. Look what happened to Harold Ford. A black liberal has no chance to be President at this moment in history.

Edwards is a Southerner, which helps with the swing vote. I won't say he's inept, but he doesn't exude a toughness that needs to be shown in a post 9/11 world.

Except that he's not. The polls show him losing to Rudy by 4.6 points.

Edwards may live in the South, but he is definitely not a Southerner.

Can you imagine asking John Edwards to help you fix your truck?

I'm from NC and I currently live in SC...NC hates him, and so does SC...he held a rally in his home town about 2 weeks ago...about 200 people showed up...thats it...he is a dem in one of the largest sections of conservatives in the nation...the only way he originally got into congress was by using the black vote...once they realized he doesn't keep him promises, he didn't get re-elected...

Edwards and his galpal John not only lost North Carolina in 2004 56% to 44%, they also lost every other Southern state.

The people who best knew those guys wouldn't vote for them. This exactly mirrors the popularity of Barack Obama. No one knows him, and they like him because of that.

Isn't this a mutually exclusive concept.

How can 8 be the largest number in a set of 1,4,5,6,8,9; when its not even the largest number in the subset of 4,8,9.

I think he said as much on the Tonight Show a few months back too.

I can't remember exactly what he says, but its pretty close to your comment.

I disagree with Hagel on some important issues, but I just have to respect the guy. He succeeded in his military career, he succeeded in the private sector, and he succeeded in his public service career.

I think he's far off the mark on Iraq, but to a certain extent I do have to respect his cojones in going against his party and his electorate in adherence to his conscience.

Too bad it can't be George Bush. :D
Honestly, regardless of who is running or plans to run, we need someone in office to revert their focus onto what is truly important...the country's economic state. Terrorism can be fought right here with a firm and vigilant stance without sacrificing billions of dollars and thousands of soldiers in another country.

Let me re-phrase that. "Anyone who wants to spend more and tax less at the same time" *shudder*

All that the government needs to do to improve the countries economic state is to quit screwing with it.

There is a significant technical issue with that stance. The state of technology right now makes offense very easy while it concurrently makes defense almost impossible.

There really is no effective manner to maintain a "vigilant stance" against modern asymmetric warfare. It's not just that offense is the best defense, it is that offense is the only defense.
