    Anchor text is the text used in a link to another page, in the link in your sig, 'Robert Allen' is the anchor text,

    If you go to Google and search for allinanchor:Robert Allen the results are ordered by the number of links that they have pointing to them with 'Robert Allen' in the anchor text.

    You'll probably find that the ordering is pretty similar for the actual search query 'Robert Allen' showing how important anchor text is in SEO

    There used to be a site a few years ago that it's sole existance was to just predict the date of the next PR update. I can't find it now, but if anyone has it I'd like it for a laugh.
